RESOLUTION N0. 87 -43 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AUTHORIZING STAFF
TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SITE WORK FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW HOSPITAL.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has been seeking to
construct a new hospital for the Kodiak Island Borough, and
WHEREAS. the Certificate of Need for construction of a new hospital
was recommended for approval by the Health Systems Agency in May, 1986, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Mayor was authorized to negotiate
purchase of a hospital site by Resolution Number 85 -82 -R, and
WHEREAS. Tract R -1A Killarney Hills Subdivision was purchased for the
site of a new hospital, and
WHEREAS, the architectural firm of Mills. John. Rigdon was retained
by the Kodiak Island Borough to provide construction drawings for the new
hospital, and
WHEREAS. the plans have progressed sufficiently for the site plan to
be completed and has been reviewed and approved by the Kodiak Island Hospital
Advisory Board, and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has provided 8418,900 toward site work
and construction of a new hospital.
NON, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that the Mayor and staff are hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the
purpose of completion of the site work for a new hospital.
