and increasingly expensive business practice of fish processors in the Kodiak
Island Borough. and
WHEREAS. many accidental injuries and Oaths and almost all crime
occurring in the Kodiak island Borough is alcohol related, and
WHEREAS. it is felt that fish processors have a vested interest in
:Oh* safety and well -being of the fishermen and their families.

A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH REQUESTING FISH PROCESSORS
OPERATING WITHIN THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH TO CEASE THE PRACTICE OF GIVING
AND /OR SELLING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES TO FISHING VESSEL CREWS UPON MAKING
DELIVERIES OF FISH.
N. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that all fish processors operating
.!within the Kodiak Island Borough voluntarily cease the practice of providing
lalcohol to commercial fishing creme at the time of deliveries of fish.
