1965-22 Ratifying School Bond ElectionKODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NUMBER 65 -- 22 "resolution ratifying the School Bond election WHEREAS, by resolution No. 65 -16, passed and adopted the 2nd. day of September, 1965, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly ' called and provided that at the regular election to be held in the Kodiak Island Borough on Tuesday the 5th. day of October, 1965, ' the following question be submitted to the qualified electors of the Kodiak Island Borough whose names appear on the last assess- ment roll or record of the Borough for purposes of Borough taxa- I tion on real property, for their approval or disapproval, the following measure: "Shall the Kodiak Island Borough, State of Alaska, incur indebtedness in a sum not to exceed Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand and no /100ths ($750,000.00) DOLLARS for the pur- pose of constructing an elementary school building con - sisting of not less than twelve (12) classrooms, and a kindergarten room, office space and multi - purpose room together with appurtenances and auxilliary space and site site development necessary for a complete elementary , school unit, and pledge the full faith and credit of the Kodiak Island Borough to the payment of any indebtedness so incurred, and issue General Obligation Bonds with in- terest at a rate not to exceed 65 per annum, payable semi- annually, all as authorized by the Statutes of the State of Alaska, and provided by Resolution No. 65 -16 of the Kodiak Island Borough passed and approved the 2nd. day of September, 1965." That the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly finds and hereby ratifies and declares that the results of the School Bond electiop held on October 5, 1965, were as follows: That on the measure proposed on the ballots as proposition' No. 1: "Shall the Kodiak Island Borough, State of Alaska, incur indebtedness in a sum not to exceed $750,000,00 for the purpose of constructing an elementary school building consisting of not less than 12 classrooms, a kindergarten room, office space and - a multi - purpose room together with appurtenances and auxilliary space and site development necessary for a complete elementary school unit, and pledge the full faith and credit of the Kodiak Isla ugh. to the payment of any indebtedness so incurred, and, issue eri Obligation Bonds with interest at a rate not to ex- ceed 6% per annum, payable semi - annually, all as authorized by the Statutes of the State of Alaska, and provided by resolution No. 65 -16 of the Kodiak Island Borough, passed and approved the 2nd. day of September, 1965." "Indebtedness - Yes L=7 Indebtedness - NC " There were 379 votes cast "for" the measure and 46 votes cast "against" the measure and the Kodiak Island Borough_Assembly declares and certifies that said measure was approved by electorate. That the total number of ballots cast at the election on the School Bond issue in the Kodiak Island Borough was 425. Let the Chairman and the Clerk of the Kodiak Island Borough be and they are hereby authorized and directed to perform any and all incidental duties in connection herewith as required by law.
