Ray Camardella, Engineering /Facilities Director, was
asked for a staff report. He reported that the only
difference in the plans the Assembly had approved was
Alternative #3, which was to replace the existing
carpet in the gymnasium. The contractors expressed
their concern of not being able to patch the existing
carpet. He added that the completion date was
extended to the end of September.
Mayor Selby added that the bids were under the
engineering estimate for the structural repair,
landscaping, fence, flagpole, and replacement of gym
carpet.
Mr. Camardella stated the project had a significant
potential for change orders. He indicated there may
be more structural damage that would not be revealed
until the outside of the building was removed. He
preferred not reducing the monies budgeted until
there was clear definition of what needed replaced.
