CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order at 12.05 p.m. in the Kodiak Island Borough meeting
room by Presiding Officer Wallin.

Canvassing of Abc,_tttee and Challenged Ballots. The Clerk presented a listing of
these :ndivrduals voting absentee noting that one was recommended not to be
accepted d:.3 to the fact that it was not notarized. Mr. Peotter moved to accent
the absentee ballots as submitted by the Clerk. Seconded by Mrs. Kavanaugh.
Motion carried by unar..mous voice vote. The ballots were opened by Mr. Peotter,
called by the Presiding Officer, Mr. Anderson and Mrs. Kavanaugh served as
counters. The challenged voter list was presented to the Assembly. Mr. Peotter
moved to accept it as presented by the Clerk. Seconded by Mrs. Kavanaugh.
Motion crried by unanimous voice vote. Five ballots were not accepted: (1)
did not give reason for challenge, (2) reside on Coast Guard Base, (2) did not
appear on State iist as registered voters. Total ballots:
Ballots were counted and Resolution No. 77 -8 -R was read in full noting that Mr.
Kotula received 341 votes for mayor,. Dorothy Paulson received 158 votes, Dan Ogg
received 115 votes, Arne Rod received 95 votes, Dell Jackson received 88 votes
and James Fisk received 68 votes. Mr. Kotula did not receive 40 percent. or more,
of the votes cast calling for a run -off election between Wayne Kotula and Dorothy
Paulson sat ` February 8, 1977.
Mr. Peotter moved to accept Resolution No. 77 -8 -R. Seconded by . ^Ars. Kavanaugh.
