KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY SPECIAL :MEETING
Mr. Peotter: personally felt he did not want to pay any more taxes but
was in favor of this unit.
Mr. Lincoln: in favor,
Dr. Emmick: medical care cannot be measured in dol lars a you yourself
require it.
Mr. Anderson: sympathetic and inclined to be lead by the favorable rr,251. >,'
response but felt the financial problems were there.
Mrs. Kavanaugh: felt speculation was being made on occupancy rate,
The Borough is hard pressed for dollars, and would much rather
see this unit being privately or state funded.
Mr. Peterson: felt we first should have some tax reform, Borough
health powers should be specifically defined, and felt figures for
occupancy were out of date, and wondered when the ECU would
be in a position to pay for itself.
Mrs. Kavanaugh felt that she had to respect the wishes of the public
she has talkea to and are opposed to this possible added expense.
Mrs. Wallin stated that all of the people here tonight for this public
hearing felt strongly enough to come and voice their views and if
the opposition felt as strong as these people perhaps they also would
have come to give their opinion.
The Public Hearing was closed.

the construction of the Extended Care Unit. Seconded by Mr. Lincoln.
