be used as parking spaces ..rs. Springhill stated that the School Board
would decide what they wanted to do with it.
B. iir. Sutliff remarked that since the Borough no longer receives any inane

City would like to leave it this way until it expires, then transfer the
money at that time.
C. Itr. Sutliff remarked that he was a little concerned with the situation with
the U. S. Forest Service. Le feels the Forest Service is completely ignor-
ing the wishes of the people in this area and he was wondering if the
Borough should consider taking sane action on this.
The Borough Chairman suggested that perhaps a resolution should be drawn
up stating the Borough was against the Afognak lumber Cut, and then sent
to the proper representatives.
r. Sutliff :roved to draw up a resolution protesting the Afognak Timber
Cut, seconded by i•ir. Arndt. By a roll call vote, the motion passed unani-

The attached Adjustment Request - No. R -70 -1 concerns the
property of the Berg - Deveau Building Co. and we request the
passage of same inasmuch as this company has been duplicating
their tax payments for the past two years.
The Assessing Department had been charging taxes on land known
as Part of Lot 8 in Block 16 of the Kodiak Townsite and these
parcels were in fact included in the property taxed and known
as Lot 4 of Block 2 of the New Kodiak Subdivisions
The 1968 and 1969 tax on these two parcels amounts to a total
of $126.07 which we feel should be refunded to the Berg - Deveau
Building Co.

REASON FOR CHANCE: Berg - Deveau Building Co. has been paying taxes for the
past two years on these two parcels when in fact the land is included
in Lot 4, Block 2 of the New Kodiak Subdivision. This had been
questioned several times by Mr. Berg; however, he continued to pay
the tax and the problem was never resolved. After much research, we
did determine that this was a duplicate payment on the same land.

Attached hereto is Adjustment Request No. R -70-2 asking the Assembly
to forgive the penalty and interest owing on Lot 1 of Block 10 of
the New Kodiak Subdivision in the name of the Elks Lodge #1772.
It was decided to accept payment in the amount of $9,821.59 as full
payment on this account and to waive the penalty and interest as
there has been some discrepancy over the actual land boundaries and
confusion over the actual title to the property.
By passage of this Adjustment Request we will have brought the Elks
to a current status on their real property taxes.
