Mr. Sutliff moved and asked for unanimous consent for approval of the minutes as presented, there being no. objections, the minutes were so approved. A. PO - regular meeting - November 12th, 1969 - There were no comments. B. School Board - regular meeting - November 10th, 1969; including the School Board Resolutions concerning revision o on • •. an. The Resolutions concern education legislation this year in connection with the oil money and is the same as others over tht:entire State. Mr. Jackson was concerned that the pre- school peeyeam would cost more money. It was noted that possibly this night be the case but that it has also been proven that money spent for such a progaem saves more money later on in the learning stage. V COmw nP a P20 APPEARANCE REQUESTS A. TUn re: New Office Machines. Mt. White had asked that Mr. Harrison came Assembly to explain the pregrammirg of the new Borough's Book- keepiartbialaine and the ?idressograph. It was ceplained that these machines will betaking in the assessing department and through the use of the machines the tax bills will now be on one billing, the machines are capable of taking cart of. the taxing, the tax roll for all districts and will cicviate the necessity of hiring additional help during the peak season. The machines will handle the corking load now and will be able to handle four times that amount in the future The Assessor reoomrsded that this system be used rather than computer as the records could stay in the Borough office and would be available at all times The Borough Chairman noted that the machines will be used for the aseetaing depart - meet and it is not his plan to have a central trcausry or accounting at this particular time. The Borough Chairman brargit this to the Assembly in order that they would be aware that the machines were in and that the bill would be peid when the machines were operating. B. Letter from Municipal League re 1970 Population termination - The amount of dues paid to the Municipal League is based on the population figure and it was the Borough Chairman's recerne datiac that the figure of 7,132 from the Comprehensive Plan should be used. There was little difference tethers this figure and the, one given in the Ecamanic Base and Population Study. Gagnon. B. Mrs. Springhill re Attendance of Meetings by Assembly members. Mrs. Springhill urged the members of the Assembly to attend all meetings of committee. th.t would deal with anything that the Borough might be involved with; Sdool Bard, Student Council, Hospital Borsd and others that involve the workings of the atmunity. The Clerk was instructed to find out tha next date of the Hospital Bard meeting in order that the members of the Assembly could ate. XII! Angle and Mr. C.antley were present to observe the Assembly meeting procedures and wish to have the record reflect that the Student Council felt very strongly that there is P. definite nee for a new high school and further felt that the amt, was under obligation to the State to furnish an academic program if the State placed the vocational school in. this :sea. They raised t&. question as to tRxn it mold be expected that the new high school Would be started. Further we arc writing to sea, exactly what the legislature will do with the oil money. The students are concerned with the posibility thnt them may be double shift in the school system next year if the new high school is not under way before ton lag.
