A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE OIL SPILL
COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough wishes to provide for the
following programs, for the following amounts, to benefit the community in the
following grant categories:
$260,000.00
$45,942.50
$38,648.00
$75,266.00
a. documentation (video taping) $1,257.00
b. records management (staffing) $12,000.00
c. administrative support $125,000.00
d. communications (contract) $30,150.00
Continued oil spill clean -up
a. oil clean -up maintenance program $4,433,289.00
(Kodiak Seiners Association)
b. bounty bag program (five (5) months] $1,231,000.00
(1) bounty $100,000.00
(2) tenders $810,000.00
(3) storage site $321,00.00
c. geotextile project (five (5) months] $310,280.00
(for use in bounty bag program and seiner program)
Planning, including multi - community coordination, to address oil spill effects:
Kodiak Island Borough Administrative costs included above
Kodiak Island Borough reappraisal of oil impacted sites $25,000.00
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is an applicant for the above
grants for a total of $6,587,832.50 under the Oil Spill Community Assistance
authorized by state law; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly that the mayor is authorized to negotiate and execute any and all
documents required for granting and managing Oil Spill Community Assistance
grant funds on behalf of the Kodiak Island Borough.
The mayor is also authorized to execute any subsequent amendments
to grant agreements to provide for changes to these projects within the scope
of services or tasks, based upon the needs of the projects.
