A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE RESULTS OF THE OCTOBER 6, 1981
GENERAL ELECTION.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Law, the Kodiak Island Borough held
a General Municipal Election in the Borough on Tuesday, the 6th
day of October, 1981, at which time candidates for the following
offices to be filled were voted on:
(1) Borough Mayor for a two -year term; Three (3)
Borough Assemblymen for three -year terms; Two (2) School Board
Members for three -year terms; Two (2) Bells Flats Service Area
Advisory Board Members for three -year terms; Three (3) Mill Bay-
Island Lake - Spruce Cape Service Area Advisory Board Members for
three -year terms; and Borough -wide Proposition No. 1 on the ques-
tion "Shall the Kodiak Island Borough continue with its present
apportionment of the Assembly, in that it consists of seven (7)
members?

elected at- large. "; and the
Bells Flats- Russian Creek Service Area residents Proposition No. 1,
on the question "Shall the Kodiak Island Borough exercise fire
protection powers within the Bells Flats- Russian Creek Service
District ? ", and
WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been delivered !
to and canvassed by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly:
Section 1: That the Assembly finds and hereby ratifies
' declares the results of the General Municipal Election held

THAT R. DAVID HERRNSTEEN received 800 votes;

THAT PHILLIP C. (PHIL) ANDERSON received 759 votes;
ROLLYN (RON) BALL received 601 votes; MAURICE E. DAVIES re-
ceived 403 votes; DENNIS P. MURRAY received 772 votes;
LORNE E. (LONNIE) WHITE received 786 votes; WILLIAM (BILL)
WILLIAMS received 739 votes; Write -in votes were received for
Michael Green (4); Dan Busch (1); Mickey Mouse (1); Okey Chandler
(2); King Kong (1); Wayne Marshall (3); John Sevier (1); Jerome
Selby (3), Gary Gilbert (1).
Therefore, it is declared that PHILLIP C. (PHIL) ANDERSON
DENNIS P. MURRAY and LORNE E. (LONNIE) WHITE
have been elected.
THAT for the positions of School Board Members for three -
year terms, the following votes were cast:
THAT LOUISE COLLINS received 643 votes; ELAINE DAMM
received 437 votes; DENNIS L. NELSON received 954 votes;
JIM M. OLSON received 800 votes; Write -in votes were received
for Karen O'Larey (1); David Thompson (1); Bill Bulen (1); Wayne
Marshall (2)
Therefore, it is hereby declared that DENNIS L. NELSON and JIM M.
'OLSON have been elected.
THAT for the positions of Service District Advisory
Board for the Bells Flats- Russian Creek Service Area three -year

terms, the following votes were cast:
THAT D. W. GEDDES received 69 votes ; GLENN E. MATHES
received 73 votes; Write -in votes were received for Joe O'Donno-
ghue (1); Mike Green (46); Dave Green (1); Jim Green (1)
Therefore, it is hereby declared that D. W. GEDDES and GLENN E.
MATHES have been elected.
THAT for the positions of Mill Bay - Island Lake - Spruce
Cape Service Area Advisory Board Members for three -year terms, the
following votes were cast:
SUSAN J. KLEMZAK received 178 votes; Write -in votes
were received for Jim Poulos (13); Lloyd Benton (9); Dan Moen (5):
Tim Johnson (4); Don Arndt (1); Ed Flerchinger (2); Scott Arndt (2);

Therefore, SUSAN J. KLEMZAK was elected.
THAT Proposition No. 1, on the question of continuing
'With the present form of apportionment for the Borough Assembly,
received 1.227 YES votes and 279 NO votes. Therefore the

Kodiak Island Borough will continue with its present form of appor-
tionment, in that the Borough Assembly will consist of seven (7)
members, all seven (7) members being elected at- large.
THAT Bells Flats- Russian Creek Service Area residents
Proposition No. 1, on the question of exercising fire protection
powers within the Bells Flats- Russian Creek Service Area, received
95 YES votes and 17 NO votes. Therefore, the Bells Flats -
Russian Creek Service Area will exercise those powers.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
on this 15th day of October, 1981.
