A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ESTABLISHING
,AMOUNT DUE FROM THE CITY OF KODIAK FOR TAXES ON PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN
THE CITY LIMITS.
WHEREAS, SECTION 92.53.020 Alaska Statutes provides that a home rule city
shall have the same power to grant exemptions or exclude property from Borough
taxes that it has as to City taxes, provided, that the exemptions or exclusions
have been adopted as to City taxes and further provided the City appropriate
to the Borough sufficient monies to equal revenues lost by the Borough because
of the exemptions or exclusions, the amount to be determined annually by the
Assembly without weighted voting, and
WHEREAS, it appears from records and files of the Kodiak Island Borough
Assessor that the following are totals for valuation and tax for personal
property inside the City for which the Borough should receive payment in lieu
of taxes:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY,
that it be and it is hereby determined that the total value of personal
property in the City subject to taxation as above stated is $135,252,258.
and that the amount due to the Kodiak Island Borough in lieu of collections
0
of Personal Property tax on said property is $742,429.02 plus or minus
adjustments, for a total tax due of $742,429.02.
