1981-26 Authorizing Application For A Grant To Construct A School In Karluk.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AUTHORIZING
APPLICATION FOR A GRANT TO CONSTRUCT A SCHOOL IN KARLUK.
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has funds available for
I the construction of a school in Karluk, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has identified the construction
of a school in Karluk as its number one priority educational Capital
Improvement Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough
ii !Assembly authorizes the application for a grant for $1,699,488 of State funds
to construct a school in Karluk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly agrees
and accepts the following requirements of the State:
1. The submitted application shall be a request for a grant
method of procurement.
2. The funding sources have been identified as:
a. Chapter 121/80 $ 960,000
b. Chapter 121/80 500,000
c. Chapter 195/72 239,488
$1,699,488
3. The Contracting Officer is the Borough Manager, Arnold
T. Hansen,or his successor, and is designated as the
authorized signatory.
The Project Representative is the Borough Facility
Coordinator, Gary D. Smith.
4. The Work of Art percentage is recognized to .5% of the
new construction cost and will be spent in accordance
with State Statutes.
5. The percentage budgeted for equipment is 9% of the new
construction budget.
6. The Kodiak Island Borough desires to retain ownership
of the completed facility.
