1969-05 Approving The State Of Alaska Final Plat Of Bell's Flats Alaska Subdivision' i n „ a r KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NUMBER 69 -5 -R A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BORO P ' PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 5, SUB - CHAPTER 4, SECTION 6 OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS APPROVING THE STATE OF ALASKA FINAL PLAT OF BELL'S FLATS ALASKA SUBDIVISION WHEREAS, Chapter 5, Sub- Chapter 4, Section 6 of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutio:is provides that a final plat shall be approved by the Borough Asserbly by Resolution and which resolution shall provide for the accentance of all streets, alleys, easements or other open spaces dedicated to public purposes, and WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Lands has presented for approval its final plat of Bell's Flats Alaska Subdivision (protracted) within T28S R20 & 21W, T29S R21W. , Seward Meridian, ar. U.S.S. 2539, and the same shows a dedication by the owner of all easements for public utilities, roadways and alleys as shown thereon for public use, and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commisrion of the Kodiak Island Borough approved said final plat on January 29, 1969 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly grant approval to the final plat presented by the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Lands and that the Kodiak Island Borough accept all streets, alley , easements and other open spaces dedicated to public purposes as set forth in said plat. KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH LKI/�n C PRESIDING OFFICER ATTE;' BYO ROUGH CHAIRMAN er BS'OUGH CLERK BY: 1 KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 69 -2 -R (P&Z) A RESOLUTION OPPOSING PASSAGE OF SENATE BILL NO. 110 WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, through its modern Constitution and through the Mandatory Borough Act has provided the advantages of areawide planning to the people of organized boroughs, and WHEREAS, the Cities within these Boroughs are well represented both on the Planning Commissions and de governing bodies of the afore- mentioned Boroughs, and WHEREAS, the Federal government, in providing grants for planning assistance, public facilities, economic development, airport improvement, parks and open space development, transportation programs, water and sewer development and other community improvement projects places great emphasis on the approval and involvement of an areawide planning agency, and WHEREAS, the various Planning Commissions throughout the State of Alaska have consistently worked in behalf of the best interest of the cities as well as those who reside outside the cities, and WHEREAS, the duplication of planning efforts within Boroughs by Home Rule Cities would be expensive, ineffective and confusing, and WHEREAS, such duplication of planning efforts would tend to thwart the spirit and intent of the Alaska Constitution and the Borough Act, and would seriously affect the bonding capabilities of the local area governments who now have the ability to adopt comprehensive capital improvement programs in the public interest, and WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission did, on March 13, 1968, adopt Resolution No. 69 -10 -R in opposition to the passage of Senate Bill 283 (of the Fifth Legislature, Second Session), and now desires to express its continued and consistent opposition to the duplication of Planning, platting and zoning responsibilities within organized boroughs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission that this body stands in opposition to the passage of Senate Bill No 110, currently before the Sixth Legislature, First Session in the Legislature of the State of Alaska.
