R d S O L U T I O N .
AS, in the opinion of the Borough Assembly
of the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH, due to the recent disaster
certain water wells in the Spruce Cape Area of the Borough
have gone dry or have been contaminated by salt water and
there exists in the area affected, an emergency requiring
action which is essential to the health, safety and welfare
of the people residing within said area and
.YHfRZAS, the Borough Assembly of the Kodiak Island
Borough after thorough consideration of the varioutainfr-
of the problem and study of available data has hereby '
determined that the construction of certain public works,
generally described as tha construction, operation and
maintenance of a water supply syste.; to service the Spruce
Cape area, consisting of an eight inch main along the
i'ission Road :.xtension from the present terminus of the
City .later main in the Potatoe Patch Area to the U.S.0 /G.
Logan Station at Spruce Cape is desirable and in the public
V T. and that the property owners residing ir, said
ingibaVe petitioned the Borough Assembly for assistance
in supplying them with water.

of the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH that the ALASKA STAT:; HOUSING
AUTHORITY be and it is hereby requested to plan, finance
and construct a water system for the Spruce Caps Area all
as provided by Sections 18.55.100, 1e.55.14Q and 18.55180
of Alaska Statutes as Amended and to make the necessary
application for financial assistance under Public Law 560,
as, as amended by P.L. 345, 84th Congress for
aid in financing the coat of the plan preparation .
BS IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the construction of said
public works is essential to and is to be best interests of
the residents and property owners of the Spruce Cape Area.
