MEETING CALLED TO ORDER The special meeting was called to order at 5:40 pm by Chairperson Jody Burcham in the Providence Kodiak Island Mental Health Center Group Room. II. ROLL CALL Members Present Jody Burcham Dave Davis Thia Falcone Darlene Turner Steve Honnold Cecil Ranney Pam Foreman Lorri Doyle Karen Perkins Members Absent Pat Crowe Lt. Tish Palmer Guests Present Don Roberts Linda Jackson Chuck Thompson Staff Present Dr. Welby Jensen Robin Gardner Karen Bennett III. REVIEW OF DIRECTORS JOB DESCRIPTION AND FORMULATION OF RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE SERVICE AREA BOARD. Several aspects of the Director Job Description were discussed. In summary, changes are as follows: 1. POSITION SUMMARY The first line now reads: The Director supervises all administrative activities of the Providence Kodiak Island Mental Health Center. The second line now reads: The Director also assists with the management of all program activities and operations in partnership with the Clinical Director. ~7 , II. SPECIAL MEETING III. CLINICAL DIRECTORS COMMENTS None. IV.DIRECTOR COMMENTS None V. ADVISORY BOARD COMMENTS. Thia Falcone asked about the FTE positions on the Providence Kodiak Island Mental Health Center's flow chart. Robin indicated that all positions were full time unless otherwise indicated. Thia felt that the current clinical staffing was a little on the light side. Pam Foreman, no comment Cecil Ranney expressed gratitude for the "Bound for Broadway" production noting that these activities produce a sense of well being in the community. Dave Davis complimented the two directors for working so well together and expressed appreciation for the unified approach to management. Darlene Turner thanked guests for their public comments. She said that she and Robin were currently drafting a change in the language to submit to legislators on some of the antiquated laws. She also reported that she would be out of town for the next regular scheduled meeting. Karen Perkins will be out of town for the next regular scheduled meeting. Steve Honnold, no comments. Lorri Doyle, no comments. Jody Burcham thanked guests for their input. XI. ADJOURNMENT The work session adjourned at 6:50 PM.
