All work to be focused on the areas of the red, yellow, and green pin markings on the map attached as Exhibit A. Photos of areas in need of repair can be found in Exhibit B. Scope of Work 1. Bracing and Line Poles • Inspection o Inspect all fiberglass line poles for signs of wear, damage, or failure. o Evaluate sections of fencing with significant slope or directional changes. • Replacement & Reinforcement o Replace damaged fiberglass poles as necessary. o Install additional bracing using industry -standard methods (e.g., H -bracing, double H - bracing). o Remove and replace any tree- or stump -based supports with engineered bracing solutions. • Deliverable o A structurally sound, well -braced fence line that maintains proper wire tension, spacing, and electrical function. 2. Digging • Subsurface Reinforcement o Excavate and install large, expanded metal panels at a 45° angle outward from the fence base. o Backfill in alternating layers of compacted soil and riprap to discourage future digging attempts. • Electrical Integration o Bond buried metal panels to the fence grounding system to improve conductivity and enhance deterrence. • Temporary Measures o Install temporary electric fencing at repaired locations to immediately deter bear activity. • Inspection & Monitoring o Conduct 2 3 follow-up inspections every two weeks following the initial repair period, during times of peak bear activity. o Reinforce any new digging attempts using the same panel and backfill system. • Deliverable o A reinforced fence line with subsurface barriers and improved electrical deterrence, supported by ongoing monitoring and adaptive repairs. Waterways • Reinforcement Measures o Install expanded metal panels, rebar stakes (or equivalent), small -diameter culverts, and large riprap to harden vulnerable areas. Ensure reinforcement allows for unrestricted water flow while eliminating access points for bears. Where reinforcement raises the effective grade, extend or raise existing chain-link and/or electric fencing to maintain adequate fence height. • Deliverable o Secure waterway crossings that prevent digging or forced entry while maintaining natural drainage. Deliverables Summary • Fully inspected and reinforced line poles and bracing systems. • Subsurface reinforcement and improved grounding at digging sites. • Temporary and long-term electric deterrents. • Hardened and secure waterway crossings. • Inspection reports and documentation of completed work. This Request for Quotes will be used for quotes for services under $25,000. A copy of the quote schedule is attached for your use in submitting quotes.
