Present: Bill Weaver, Scott Arndt, Bill Swearingin, Barbara
Swearingin, Horace Simmons, Chief Smith.

Financial Report:
Discussed vehicle maintance costs.
Discussed changes in budget totals and line item amounts.

Volunteer Report:

Old Business:
Horace Simmons moved we authorize $6,000. to improve flow of
water from tank to pump on engine 12. Motion died for lack
of seconded. Discussion followed.
Horace Simmons moved we authorize $5,000. to improve a water
source in Monashka Bay area. Motion died for lack of a
second.
Chiefs Report:
Information concerning an informative class and advice on Iso
was presented by Chief Smith. Mr Jim Schwager, a former
supervisor of public grading for insurance services office of
Orgon, fire protection specialist and civil engineer, is
available March 10, 1986 to teach this class. Horace Simmons
moved we authorize expenditure to cover cost of Fee $650.
plus travel from anchorage, and hotel expenses. Bill Waver
seconded, motion carried.
Chief Smith will collect information, maps etc. for this
class presentation.
COMMITTED TO FIRE PREVENTION AND SAFETY IN FIRE PROTECTION AREA Al. KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
The Department of forestry agreement was signed Jan. 9, 1986.
Three prices for volunteer health exams were submitted.
North Pacific Medical Center being the lowest amount at $69.
Bill Swearingin moved we enter into a contract with North
Pacific Medical Center for health exam and physical.
Bill Wever seconded, motion carried.
Volunteers going to the Arson seminar are, Will Walton, and
John Shank.
New Business:
Bill Wever we authorize hose tower modification and ladder
safty, not to exceed $3800. Bill Swearingin seconded, motion
carried.

Item: Radio, Bill Wever moved we authorize purchase of one
more hand held portable with 4 chanels. Bill Swearingin
seconded, motion carried.
Bill Swearingin moved we purchase a hose washer. Bill Wever
seconded, motion carried.
Chief Smith researched Nomex Hoods for volunteers. Direction
given to purchase.
Item: Sidewalk, Decision to wait a year.
The board went over 86-87 budget Item by item. Bill Wever
moved to pass the first reading. Bill Swearingin seconded,
motion carried.
Visitor Comment: None.
Chiefs Comment: Andy Cristaldi met with Chief Smith to discuss
water supply for the proposed Safeway Shopping Center.
Next regular meeting Feb. 28, 1986 at 7:30 p.m.
