Jerome Selby, Borough Manager, Tom Peterson, Lonnie White,
Donnell Roundsavill.
Visitors Present: Chief Smith, Bill Wever, Bill
Swearingin, Barbara Swearingin, Horace Simmons, Andy Nault,
Scott Arndt, Steve Rupnou, and Kevin Frost.
7:38 p.m. Scott Arndt made a presentation to the group for
Bayside Volunteer Fire Dept.
7:40 Francis Cater arrived.
Scotts presentation as follows, Short history of past action
regarding Budget/payment to city for services.
Discussed ongoing attempt to get a mutual aid agreement.
Discussed forming one Borough service district by election of
area voters, encompassing all existing fire protected areas
and areas that are not presently protected, from the v.f.w.
to Marine Hill.
Discussed contract authority with federal government.
Chief Smith discussed costs and
service with 1/2 million budget
There would be some reduction in
duplication of equipment, etc.
Discussed need for legal advice
authorities, etc.
services with 3 or 4 times more
savings in a consolidated dept.
paid personel, eliminate
concerning boundries,
Tom Peterson directed Borough Manager, with consent of Assembly,
to have legal opinion on consolidation.
Discussed dispatch problems at present time.
Discussed emergency (disaster) response ramifications.
Discussed time constraints on forming super district.
