1985-06-04 Regular MeetingX BAYSIDE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT STAR ROUTE, 3670 REZANOE KODIAK, ALASKA 99615 MINUTES OF MEETING FIRE PROTECTION AREA #1 ADVISORY BOARD Present: Bill Weaver, Scott Arndt, Bill Swearingin, Barbara Swearingin, Horace Simmons, Chief Smith. Meeting called to order at 7:40 P.M Chairperson Scott Arndt. Agenda: Approved Minutes: Approved Visitors: Jim Beson on June 4, 1985 by Financial Report: Noted decrease in projected state revenue sharing chapter 89.-$17,984 Miscellaneous revenue increase $6,184 Miscellaneous revenue increase $ 826 Net projected revenue short-fall-$10,512 Communications: None Volunteer Report: None Old Business: State co-operative agreement hasn't been received from State Forestry Mutual Aid meeting still pending for Womens Bay and Coast Guard. Training trailer must be moved within 3 weeks. Chief Smith Instructed to get it mooed and authorized approximately $200.00. Budget approved after discussion. City Contract: No action or response City Property: No response COMMITTED TO FIRE PREVENTION AND SAFETY IN FIRE PROTECTION AREA #i1. KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH Station Sketch: Discussed at worksession last week. Another worksession scheduled for June 18, 1985 7:30p.m. (Tuesday). Chiefs Report: Volunteer payroll $1720 Through May Fireworks ordinance will be decided at Borough assembly meeting on June 6, 1985 Report on Chiefs Conference Changes to fire reports Theme was planning Fair labor standards acts court decision Performance Report New Business: Pager Maintenance; Scheduled batch cleanup, may need to set up equipment reserve for replacement Vehicle Maintenance; Board authorized quarterly inspection with semi-annual fluids change. Station Trees; Volunteers to help cut trees in the way of the fill project this weekend. Building Burning Policy; Chief Smith recently had requests for clean-up burns. Policy of charging for them to be prepared for next meeting Bill Swearingin moved to join FedAlaska Credit Union, Bill Waver seconded. Motion carried. Horace Simmons moved to uphold the current Borough ordinance concerning sale of fireworks within fire service district, Bill Waver seconded.
