ADVISORY BOARD
Present: Bill Wever, Scott Arndt, Bill Swearingin, Barbara Swearingin,
Horace Simmons, Chief Smith.
Meeting called to order at 7:40 p.m. on Oct. 31, 1984 by Chairperson
Scott Arndt.

Financial Report: Not available on this date.
Communications:
Letter &rom Borough to Sea Land to request Tanker transport
from Seattle to Kodiak.
Volunteer Report: None
Chiefs Report:
Discussion of ordinance 84-42-0 adopting codes primarily 1982
code versions, some 1983 code versions.
Water system at Island Lake are now operational.
Check on Smokeater
Chick on tires for pickup (cost)
Old Business:
Training trailor: Tabled
Chiefs job discription: Report by Horace Simmons.
Considering research on spliting Chief Smith, seperate.
Tankers: Report by Chief Smith. Pump test to be done Nov. 7, 1984.
Problems with one of the engines. Fred Mcpherson does not have
4" hose yet so will ship later.
Trip: Plane tickets have been purchased. Travel money in the
amt. of $850.00 obtained. Leave Kodiak at 7:00 a.m. Nov, 1, 1984.
Pagers: Cost $323.53 per. pager which is 7% increase.
Horace Simmons moved we purchase 10 pagers with leather cases.

City Contract: Discussed posibilities of drafting a mutual
aide agreement.
Electron of New Officers:
Horace Simmons moved we select Scott Arndt for chairperson.
Bill Wever seconded, motion carried.
Horace Simmons moved we select Barbara Swearingin for secretary.
Bill Wever seconded. motion carried.
New Business:
The board directed the Chief not to accept material or services
donations without supporting document for accounting purposes.
Vehicle maintance: Chief requestes the Board to establish a
policy to have the Fire Engines checked by a Diesel mechanic
once a year as part of preventive maintenance program.
The Board requested the (volunteer equipment committee to come
up with an over-all weekly, monthly, yearly, maintenance .plan
to be presented next meeting.
Future Planning: Discussed a special meeting for planing only.
No date decided on.
