ADVISORY BOARD
Present: Scott Arndt, Bill Wever, Horace Simmons, Chief Smith,
Barbara Swearingin.
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 4. 1984 by
Scott Arndt, Chairman.
Agenda Approved with addition of Snow problem on roof.
Horace Simmons moved, Bill Wever seconded.
Minutes Approved, with correction of Date from July 3, 1984 to Aug 7, 1984.
Horace Simmons moved, Bill Wever seconded.
Visitirr: Bill Swearingin
Financial Report: Report given by Scott Arndt.
Communication: Letter to Borough Manager
Letter from Jerome M. Selby, Borough manager concerning Peace Officer
designation.
Volunteer Report: None
Old Business:
Snow buildup on roof: Report by Horace Simmons. Recited several
ways to relieve problem. Futher research on angle iron idea.
Constitution and by laws: Tabled
Equipment Proposal: Horace Simmons moved we accept equipment list
and authorize purchase. Bill Wever seconded. Motion carried.
Tanker Chasis 1 (one) week from completion 8-28-84. Waiting to
hear of arival at Western States.
Radio: Bid reci.eved from Tony Smaker, Motorola. Cost of 2 (two)
radios $5,904.26. Delivery 8 weeks upon reciept of an authorized
purchase order. Horace Simmons moved we authorize purchase order
for lz the cost of radio equipment. IE: Bayside radio.
Bill Wever seconded, Motion carried.
Chiefs job discription and classifaction: Copy attatched.
Horace moved to add the wording, direct supervision by Advisory
Board, subject to review by Borough manager and Borough Assembly,
and to accept the document as written. Bill Wever seconded.
Motion carried.

Chiefs Salary Classification: After much discussion Horace Simmons
Moved we change his classification from 16. to 22.5 and drop the
rent from $11,000. per year of $9,000. per year to be deducted from
his pay on a Bi-weekly basis. Bill Wever seconded. Motion carried.
Future Goals: Tabled till Oct. meeting.
New Business:
Telephone Hot Line:
Purpose: direct line to Emergency number 911
Site: outside Bayside fire station.
Cost: $74.00 to install. $17.23 per month
Chief directed by the board to have installed.
Trailor Donation:
Purpose: use as a much needed Scott Pac and Smoke drill
site.
Site: next to fire station until swamp area filled in,
then move to that area permanently.
Cost: Nothing for trailor. Build movable walls, clean up,
and upgrade outside. Undetermined.
Chief directed to go ahead and research posibilities.
IE: P&Z requirements and cost of materials to upgrade.
Chiefs Conference: September 17-18-19-. Bill Wever moved to
authorize chiefs travel and per diem for conference. Horace simmons
seconded. Motion carried.
E.M.T. 1 class cost: Horace Simmons moved we reimburse volunteers
taking the class upon certification. Bill Wever seconded.
Motion carried.
