The meeting was called to order at 7:50 p.m, on June 5, 1984 by Scott Arndt, Chairman. Agenda Approved. Horace Simmons moved, Bill Wever seconded Minutes Approved. Horace Simmons moved, Bill Wever seconded. Financial Report: Statement amounts discussed and reviewed financial report. Communication: Letter of congratulation from Chief Magnusen and Mike Dolph, for winning the water ball contest. Letter from Borough to Lou Schneider, regarding hose tower ladder, GFI requirements, and violation notice from OSHA. Old Business: Constitution and Bylaws: Tabled Station Water Filters: Still gathering information. Typewriter: Buy used typewriter for $320. Horace Simmons moved Bill Wever seconded, Motion carried. Parking Lot: Bob Boyd, Highway Dept. has been contacted. O X d our plan in regards to highway right of way. Rough estimate on fill and rock shows to costly at this time. further work needed. Resolution #84-46-R: Horace Simmons moved to reconsider, Bill Wever seconded, Motion carried. Discussion, Horace Simmons moved to recomend the Borough accept #84-46-R with modification, Lack of second motion died. Chiefs Report: Automobile Fire. Annexed area discussed. Plans to recruit new Volunteers in Sept. and start recruit training in Oct. Plans to make Officers, and is insthe process of writing Criteria. Nothing on Tanker chasis. Address system progressing. New Business: Resolution #84-31-0 Regarding building and construction code. Uniform code for Borough and City. (Fire Code Chapter 15-24) COMMITTED TO FIRE PREVENTION AND SAFETY IN FIRE PROTECTION AREA #1. KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH (2) New Business cont. Uniforms: John Shank, Spokesman for volunteers, requested funds for windbrakers, t-shirts caps, and patches. Need more information as cost and design of Jacket. Discuss next meeting. Camera': John Shank, Spokesman for volunteers, requested a 35mm Camera with case, Tri-pod, lenses, etc. Cost estimate $500.00 up. Barbara Swearingin moved to purchase camera and equip. not to exceed $750.00. Bill Wever seconded. Motion carried Chief Comments: Chief Uniform. To be discussed next meeting.
