BAYSIDE BOARD MEETING
OCTOBER 27, 1987
CALL TO ORDER: 7:30 PM October 27, 1987.
PRESENT: Bill Swearingin, Horace Simmons, Scott Arndt, Sid Cozart,
Chief Earl Smith and Charles Lorenson.
AGENDA: Approved.
VISITORS: Dan Millard and Andy Nault.
MINUTES: Horace Simmons moved and Bill Swearingin seconded, motion
carried unanimously.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS: CHAIRMAN- Sid Cozart nominated Horace Simmons and Charles
Lorenson seconded. Bill Swearingin nominated Scott Arndt
and Horace Simmons seconded. Horace Simmons was elected
Chairman.
Charles Lorenson was railroaded to be Secretary, unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Accepted.
VOLUNTEER REPORT: Andy Nault advised that the %ilor for Training be completed
soon.
OLD BUSINESS: City fire truck needs re -bid with new guide lines. Staff in
favor to have the engine. Sid Cozart made motion for
$2,600.00. Bill Swearingin seconded. Roll Call Vote was
taken and passed 4-1.
DUMP FIRE: Discussed the fire that we responded to. Discussion was held
to invite Jerome Selby (Borough Mayor) to the December meeting.
CHIEF'S REPORT. Reviewed Homer Fire Fighters Comference. Chief responded that
the meeting and learning sessions were good. Chief also
explained the usage of Trailor for Training.
ANNEXATION: The King Crab Warehouse is no longer ours.
TIRE CHAINS: Chief advised us to try and check our new chains and return
any recommendations for usage.
NEPA CODES: Chief advised the need for new National Fire Fighters Code
Books. Scott Arndt moved and Horace Simmons seconded, motion
passed unanimously. Cost of $350.00 to be put under line
548-37-62 Dues and Books.
VISITORS COMMENTS: Andy Nault discussed the idea of the Fire Department having
more public relations with the people.
