MINUTES OF MEETING
FIRE PROTECTION AREA #1
ADVISORY BOARD
Present: Scott Arndt, Bill Swearingin, Barbara Swearingin,
Bill Waver, Chief Smith. Absent, Horace Simmons.
Meeting called to order at 7:45 on Sept. 26, 1986 by Chairperson
Scott Arndt.
Agenda: Approved.
Minutes: Unavailable.
Visitors: Dixon Ingram.
Financial Report:
Acknowledge receipt of financial report.
Horace Simmons present at 8:00
Old Business:
Alaska State Firefighters Conference:
Bill Swearingin moved we pay for banquet tickets for
volunteer firefighters and spouse. Bill Waver seconded,
motion carried.
Lost Pager:
Jim Swearingin lost pager during drill exercise. Horace
Simmons moved we replace pager. Bill Waver seconded, motion
carried with three (3) for and two (2) abstaining.
Chiefs Report:
Fire Hydrant:
Fire hydrant repair on Lily Drive and Artic Tern discussed.
Service district to obtain some replacement parts for hydrant
repair. Letter from Dan Mallard to Brechan Entrprise
regarding hydrant repair.
Tom Strifel is waiting for pipe delivery to do station water
system hookup.
Horace Simmons moved we grant Chief Smiths request for two
(2) weeks vacation starting Oct. 19, 1986. Bill Wever
seconded, motion carried.
Estimate to sprinkle station 022,837. Chief Smith to check
on insurance requirements.

City Council work session.
Fire calls policy. Discussed.
Beaver Lake annexation. Discussed.
Bill Waver moved we object to piecemeal annexation "Take all
of fire districe #1 or leave it alone." Horace Simmons
seconded, motion carried.
New Business:
We have been offered a Station Dog. Horace Simmons moved we
turn down the offer. Bill Wever seconded, motion carried.
NO DOG.
