BAYSIDE BOARD MEETING
SEPTEMBER 27, 1988
A. CALL TO ORDER: 7:08 PM. September 27, 1988.
B. ROLL CALL: Sid cozart, Chief Earl Smith, Horace Simmons, Scott
Arndt, Andy Nault, Bill Swearinger and Charles Lorenson.
C. ACCEPT AGENDA: Accepted agenda but Chief forgot Board Comments
AGAIN!!
D. VISITORS: Doug Mather and John Shank.
E. APPROVE MINUTES: Changed wording from last minutes. THE HYDRANT
NEEDS TO BE WITHIN ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY (150)
FEET OF THE BUILDING ON THE BAPTIST MISSION COMPLEX.
F. FINANCIAL REPORT: Accepted.
G. OLD BUSINESS:
(1). VAN: Accepted the van. LOOKS GREAT! We hope to
equipped it soon so we can use it to respond to
calls.
(2). SPRINKLER SYSTEM: Borough Assembly rejected the bid due
to insufficient number of bids. The
The Board discussed new financing for
the sprinkler system but no action was
taken at that time.
(3). C.I.P.: We received a letter from Linda Freed stating
we are number thirteen (13) on a list of twenty
four (24).
H. NEW BUSINESS:
(1). VAN RADIO: We hope to have it ordered soon.
I. CHIEF'S REPORT:
(1). PAVEMENT: Chief Smith discussed the Station pavement.
Horace suggested, to Mike Brechan, that the
pavement needs a seal coat because of larger
gravel used. The Board discussed it and does
not forsee a problem.
(2). SCHOOL SITE: Chief talked on school site selection and
the possibility of it being in our district.
CHIEF'S REPORT continued ................
(3). NEW HOMES AND WAREHOUSES: A number of metal buildings
are being built with upstairs apartments.
These are being built in our district. The
need for outside exits from second floor
apartments was discussed.
(4). CONFERENCE: The conference committee expressed their
thanks for sending them to the Safety Conference.
(5). KANA GRANT: We have received some oxygen bottles and first
aid kits. The balance of the order will be
arriving soon.
J. VISITORS COMMENTS: None.
K. BOARD COMMENTS: Scott presented Horace Simmons with a placque
for his years of dedication to the Fire District.
