Perry motioned to approve last months minutes. Dave seconded the motion. It was discussed to hold our steering committee meetings through the summer regardless of the number of members able to attend. OLD BUSINESS: Software conversion update: Perry talked to J E K regarding the contract between the Borough and EMA. They told him we have from the date of installation six (6) months of maintenance. After the maintenance expiresq we can purchase a maintenance agreement at $69500 a year• this would include any enhancements to the software. Presently J C K is working on upgrading the documentation package. Marolyn said the conversion is going very well. The warehouse system has been converted. The fixed assets system will hopefully be done to meet the June 30 deadline. Payroll and finance system will be ready to go on line July I. It was discussed that the PC in the Junior High school will not be using a modem to communicate with the System/38. A temporary line will be installed. When the auditorium is completed there will be a permanent line installed. NEW BUSINESS: PC Maintenance Agreement: An estimated price for the maintenance on the PC's that the Borough just purchased is $49700 a year. Jerome said the cost/benefit is not there for S4r700 a year. It would be cheaper to buy a new PC. Perry will contact local repair agencies to determine the best price for a case by case repair. Possibility of meeting more frequently at staff level: Perry wants feed back from the School District on the data processing department as to how pleased or what problems they have with his department, and what they expect from Data Processing. The Department heads and Perry meet about every two weeks to discuss any problems they are having. Marolyn liked the meeting Perry had with the School District staff stating that we are meeting the goals that were set up by the computer study. Since there is so much to learn about PC's, a user group has been established by Perry. The first meeting was at 1:30 p.m. on June 6, 1985, in the Borough conference room. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:35 a.m. The next meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday• July 29 19859 at 11:00 a.m. Respectfully submitted, Je me .
