Chairman, Bryce Weeks, called the Computer Steering Committee to order
on Thursday, March 29, 1984, at 12:10 p.m. The following persons were

PRESENT OTHERS ATTENDING

(Vacant) Data Processing Manager
Joyce Healey motioned that the agenda be accepted and was seconded by
Mary Jo Simmons. Marolyn then motioned for the minutes of the
February 16, 1984, meeting be accepted and was seconded by Mary Jo.
Bryce then reported on the progress of the conversion. Mike Sipe and
Tom Martineau are still working on the conversion. The Payroll systems
are still being tested along with the Borough Finance system. The
conversion seems to be taking a long time and Noreen Thompson stated
that she feels we will have to put up with this until the new Data
Processing Manager is hired.
Bryce next reported on the hiring of the new Data Processing Manager. One
person, Rommie McDonald, from Arkansas, has been interviewed and got
a chance to look the island over. Interviews with the other applicants
are being arranged.
The courses for the in-house training from ATS have arrived. Margaret has
looked at two of them and reported that they seem to be very good
courses. It was discussed where to set up an area for people to study
these courses without being disturbed.
Marolyn then talked about the Use Agreement that the Borough and School
District drafted. It was decided to accept the Use Agreement with
an item 3 added which stated that the Agreement be reviewed annually.
Joyce then talked about developing a RFP for software acquisition. She
has a copy of the RFP from the Plat -Su Borough and has their permission
to use any part of their RFP to construct one for the Borough/School District.
It seems to deal with alot of areas the computer study dealt with. The
five areas to be dealt with are budget, payroll personnel, warehouse
inventory, fixed assets and pupil accounting.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
The next meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 1984.
Respectfully Submitted,
