1984-02-16 Regular MeetingKODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH DATA PROCESSING STEERING COMMITTEE February 16, 1984 MINUTES Chairman, Bryce Weeks, called the Computer Steering Committee to order on Thursday, February 16, 1984, at 12:10 p.m. The following persons were in attendance: Mary Jo Simmons Noreen Thompson Joyce Healey Marolyn Pedersen Phil Shealy Bryce Weeks Eileen Harland Mickie Miller Wayne Haerer ABSENT Dave Wakefield Phil motioned for the minutes of the January 17, 1984 meeting be accepted and was seconded by Joyce Healey. Eileen then reported onthe progress of the conversion. The contractors, Mike Sipe and Tom Martineau are helping with the conversion process. Presently the Utility Billing System, the School District and the Borough Payroll are converted and are being tested. To follow shortly thereafter are the almost completed Accounting and Property Tax Systems. The training of staff was discussed. Margaret Jamison has just returned from a System/38 System Operator training course. The question was raised about the training of staff. An in-house program, if well developed, would serve these purposes and Eileen was directed to investigate with the possibility of Automated Technology Systems as the vendor. Brvice then reported on the process used for hiring the Data Processing Manager and that 10 letters to perspective interviewers have been sent out. Bryce and Joyce gave out versions of use agreements that will be reviewed and then discussed at the next meeting. The School District Computer study was the next item discussed. Noreen reviewed the Plan for Phased Implementation of the Study. The hardware time -line and RFP process were discussed. Facilities and space need to be addressed in future meetings. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:05 p.m. The next meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, March 15, 1984. Respectfully Submitted, Processing Steering Committee
