DATA PROCESSING STEERING COMMITTEE

Chairmanv Bryce Weeksi called the Data Processing Steering Committee to
order on Fridays January 13, 19849 at 9:05 a.m. The following persons
were in attendance:
Phil Shealy
Bryce Weeks
Eileen Harland
Mickey Miller
Noreen Thompson
Joyce Healey
Gordon Gould
Wayne Haerer
Joyce motioned for the minutes of the December 71 1984 meeting be
accepted and was seconded by Bryce Weeks. Joyce motioned that New
Business items A and B be removed from the agenda until the School
Board had a chance to review the Systems Analysis Report.
Eileen reported on the status of the conversion. The conversion is
going slower than anticipated and to complete the project by February
249 1984 outside temporary help will be needed. The committee agreed to
have Eileen investigate possibilities of borrowing a programmer or
hiring a contractor and have a meeting January 17. 1984. The list of
priorities was established as follows:
1. Finance Applications -Borough
2. Finance Applications -School District
3. Payroll -Borough
4. Payroll -School District
5. Property Tax System -Borough
Phil Shealy reported that the Borough Assembly has decided to give the
Hospital the System/34 when the conversion is complete. Joyce
recommended that the use agreement be discussed• Phil suggested that
the costs of operation be split with the Borough paying for the capital
outlay. Bryce and Joyce will have a draft of an agreement completed on
February 1. 1984. Noreen and Phil agreed that it is important to
continue with a good working relationship for the School District and
Borough. Bryce explained the agreement of the School District and
Borough to Gordon Gould. Phil stated there is a standing offer for the
City to investigate the possibilities of sharing the Borough's
computer.
Joyce asked what procedure the Borough is using to hire the new Oata
Processing Manager. Bryce said he will do a paper screening with the
help of the School District Personnel Office and then interview the
finalist with a panel comprised of Borough and School District
personnel.
Maintanence on the microfilmer will be included in the Data Processing
Budget. Its costs will then be shared as stated in the use agreement
that is currently being developed. The present bill will be paid by
Data Processing.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:55 a.m.
