1983-11-01 Regular MeetingKODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH DATA PROCESSING STEERING COMMITTEE November 1, 1983 Chairman, Bryce Weeks, called the Computer Steering Committee to order on Tuesday, November 1, 1983, at 2:05 p.m. The following persons were in attendance: Phil Shealy Bryce Weeks Joyce Healey Eileen Harland Joyce motioned for the minutes of the August 23, 1983 minutes be accepted and were seconded by Bryce. Eileen then reported onthe status of the conversion to the the System/38: Application 1. Utilities 2. Software from Mat -Su 3. Finance Systems 4. Student Fund Accounting 5. Property Tax 6. Payroll 7. Microfilm Indexing 8. Building Maintenance 9. Work Orders 10. Fixed Assets/Inventory 11. Building & Zoning Permits Expected Completion Date November 5, 1983 November 15, 1983 December 2, 1983 December 7, 1983 December 21, 1983 January 5, 1983 January 14, 1983 Joyce requested that Eileen help the Maintenance Department research the possibility of attaching the microprocessors in the villages to a central site. Phil suggested we contact Marty Anderson with CTA about the Building Maintenance System they have available. The Engineering Applications requested by Dave Crowe are being investigated Two demonstration diskettes for the IBM PC are being shipped. Eileen requested for the System/38 that she be the security officer and it was agreed upon. The School District charges were discussed and Bryce recommended that both he and Joyce re-evaluate and discuss it again at the next meeting. Joyce reported on the status of the Systems Analyst. A recommendation will be made at the November 14, 1983 School Board meeting and a report by the Systems Analyst to the Board will be made December 21, 1983. In the meantime the School District conversion will continue as scheduled. Literature for an electronic spread sheet was reviewed and either Pararesearch or Bancom System will be selected. The sale of the System/34 was discussed. It was agreed to start advertising January 1, 1983 with trade magazines and local papers. The next meeting has been scheduled for December 7, 1983.
