All software will have to be either converted or rewritten to run on the System/38. If converted, it will not take advantage of the Data Base. The EMA package has been reviewed by Joyce Healey, Kitty Munro, Pam Hummell, Jan Williams and Eileen Harland. The Payroll/Personnel module has the most to offer. Our payroll system has been inadequate and does not include any personnel functions. Joyce recommended we purchase this system and the Borough share the costs at $18,000 for the total package. Joyce and Eileen will write a proposal for the Manager and the Superintendent to review. Mat -Su Borough has a property tax and assessment system that is written for the IBM System/38. We will begin negotiating for the System, it will probably cost us any out-of-pocket costs that Mat -Su incurrs and trade for our software in the future.
