1982-01-14 Regular MeetingComputer Steering Committee - Minutes - Ja4yary 14, 1982 ry Chairman Bryce Weeks called the Computer Steering Committee to order on Thursday, January 14, 1982 at 10:00 A.M. for the monthly meeting. The following persons were in attendance: Bryce Weeks Eileen Harland Joyce Healey Marilyn Pedersen Joyce Healey motioned that the minutes from the last meeting be accepted and was seconded by Bryce Weeks. Then the memo on the status of the equipment for the Kodiak Island Borough School District was reviewed. The equipment that was suggested by the committee last session has been recommended to the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly and are awaiting their answer. Bryce Weeks reported that the Kodiak Island Borough Manager suggested that the City be invited to join the committee. Joyce Healey added that since KEA is also an IBM System/34 user, they should also be invited by the Kodiak Island Borough Manager. Discussion was then turned to the status of Financial Managements Associates contract with the Kodiak Island Borough School District. The contract will expire January 20, 1982 and will then be on an as needed basis. Two options were then given by Joyce Healey for future programming needs: 1. Utilize Kodiak Island Borough programmer as outlined on the Draft of the Use Agreement. 2. Hire an independent contractor as needed. The major priorities for the Kodiak Island Borough School District presently are the Budgetary Process and the Payroll/Personnel System. The Payroll/Personnel System that was given to us by the City of Santa Cruz will be aiming for March 10, 1982 for first sample output and operational for the Borough, July 1, 1982. Joyce Healey presented a rough draft for a use agreement between the Kodiak Island Borough and the Kodiak Island Borough School District. The agreement will be reviewed next meeting. However, the Borough will remain the purchasing and issuing agent for computer paper and will bill the Kodiak Island Borough School District at cost. Bryce Weeks turned the discussion to purchasing of Microfilm equipment. The Kodiak Island Borough has budgeted $12,500 and the Kodiak Island Borough School District has also budgeted $12,500. The committee is recommending to the Borough Manager and School District Superintendent that Carol Baglin, Mickey Miller and a representative from the Kodiak Island Borough Hospital research the needs and specifications for the equipment so that a bid can be put out for the equipment. The equipment should be compatible with the IBM System/34 to keep costs at a minimum. The next meeting has been scheduled for February 10, 1982. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:15 A.M. Respectfully submitte Bry S. Weeks, Ch rman Co uter Steerin Committee -
