1987-11-06 Regular Meetingr Minutes of the Monashka Bay Road Commission November 6, 1987 The meeting was called to order at 7 I-.M. at the Bayview Fire Station Business : I Bill Swearingin was sworn in for a Three Year term and Eric Blankenberg was sworn in for a one year term . All Members except Roxy Bringold were present . II. Bill Swearingin was elected Chairman and Dan Ogg was made Secretary . III . Discussion was held on the road maintenance for the last year and the amount of money in the budget was discussed. The Boarcb unamously approved repairs to be made to the two places on Three Sisters where water was seeping through the road and to fix the Entrance to Marmot where the water was seeping up through the road . IV. The Board unanamously approved a request to the Borough to make well test available to the residents on Marmot -if the residents took their samples to the City tester This seemed the easiest way to monitor wherther the dump was polluting the subsurface water . V. Tie Board uaanamously approved a statement to the Borough Thatethe location of the dumpsters (2) at the old school bus turn around are more than adequate and than additional locations appear not necessary ; That the cost of the garbage program seems to be exceed— ingly high for the amount of service being provided . VI. The Board unanamously approved a request to the Borough that the Garbage bill be collected as part -of the mill levy instead of monthly bills to the property owner . It seemed tht the Borough and the tax payer would both save money if this m meathod were adopted . r r'. r, Monashka bay Road Commission minutes of. November 6, 1987 con't - VII. The Board unanamously approved a request that the State Department of Transportation reduce the speed limit.on Monashka Bay Road from Fort Abercrombie to the end of the paving fo 45 (forty five ) miles per hour . It was felt that the amount of residential that the road traverses would be made safer by lowering the speed limit. VIII. The Board asked the secretary to send out a, news letter to let th.e property owners know what wis going on . IX. The Board unanamously approve a request to the Borough to keep our project, of paving our roads in the Capital Projects list . It is our understanding that the paving is to be like.the paving in Bells Flats and does not include sewer drains and sidewalks . It is also our desire that the paving covers three roads ; Marmot Drive , Three Sisters Drive , aid Mountain View . The next, meeting is to bee Friday January 29 , 1988 at 7-.
