FOR PERSONNEL POLICY
Minutes for June 1, 1977.
I. CALL TO ORDER.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tom Simpler at
7:04 p.m. in the Borough Conference Room.
II. ATTENDANCE.
Present

A quorum was established.
III. READING OF THE MINUTES.
Minutes from the last meeting were excussed from this reading due
to the recognition of the work load of the Secretary. Minutes
from May 25, 1977 and June 1, 1977 meetings to be presented at
the next meeting.
IV. CONSIDERATION OF ASSIGNMENTS.
Harold Ward led the discussion on "Performance Evaluation" continued
from last week. Mr. Ward will be presenting a draft of his topic
at the following meeting incorporating the comments of the committee
into a typed format for consideration and addition to the workbook
of policy statements.
Owen Tarr presented his draft of "Separations". With minor changes,
Wayne Coleman moved to adopt the "Separations" document. Lorna
Arndt seconded the motion. All were in favor of adding the draft
to the other accepted statements.
V. COMMENTS AND ASSIGNMENTS.
Keeping in mind a goal of presenting the Personnel Policy statements
to the Borough Assembly by their first meeting in September, with
final adoption, hopefully, October 6th, the committee gave thought
as to what topics were left to be considered. Using the City's policy
as an outline, topics left to provide statements for are: 1) Ob-
jectives and Scope; 2) Salary Administration & Job Descriptions;
3) Employee Development; 4) Annual Leave, Sick Leave, and Holidays;
and 5) Special Provisions.
The responsibility to provide job descriptions has been turned over
to the Borough Manager. Owen Tarr will provide a draft statement
for employee development and Tim Johnson has been assigned the task
of making a presentation on Special Provisions.
The membership was asked to review the Fairbank's leave policy,
wherein, reference is made to combining -annual and sick leave. The

Secretary was also. asked to share the Fairbank's leave policy
with Borough employees to get their response on it for future
consideration.
VI. APPOINTMENTS.
moved to aDDoint Frank Parker Chairman of the Citizen
of absence for the summer. Wayne Coleman seconded the motion
were in favor of such.
VII. MEETING SCHEDULE.
The next meeting is scheduled for June 8, 1977, Wednesday, at
7:00 p.m. in the School District Conference Room.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at
9:00 P.M.
