1982-05-04 Regular MeetingArchitectural Revieyz Board - Minutes - May 4, 82 Chairman Wayne Coleman called the meeting to order on Tuesday, May 4, 1982 at 7:30 p.m. The following persons were in attendance: Larry Chickering Art Bors David Waldron Ron Chase Ed Kozak Bill Beaty Scott Arndt Louis Schneider John Witteveen Jim Olsen Wayne Coleman David Waldron presented proposals from 17 Architectural firms. These were reviewed and, after considerable discussion the ARB narrowed the list down to six. Eleven were eliminated from further consideration. Ed Kozak motioned the six remaining firms be invited for interview on two consecutive nights (3 each night) with presentation limited to fifty minutes each. Jim Olsen seconded the motion, no further discussion. Motion passed unanimously. As a point of discussion it was determined that three firms should ultimately be recommended, without ranking order to the Borough Assembly. This would negate placing the number one rec- ommended firm from being "in the drivers seat" so to speak when it comes time to negotiate a percentage fee. In this manner the Borough would be free to break off negotiations with one or more firms if they were demanding what might be considered an excessive fee. The six firms selected are: Lane, Knorr and Plunkett, CTA, CSM/DLR, GDM, Sundberg and Associates and SEA SUMMA. The Board requested that the Facility Coordinator contact the firms to set up the presentations, and also advise the firms that any attempt on the part of anybody associated with the firm to contact members of the Assembly, School Board or Architectural Review Board including the associated staff personnel would be considered inappropriate. Fire Station Site Investigations were reviewed and discussed. David Waldron also mentioned that the design for the Assembly Chambers, while delayed, was moving along. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Wayne Colenfdh, rhairman Architectural Review Board ww
