1983-04-05 Regular Meetingr Architectural Review Board - Minutes - April 5, 1983 The Architectural Review Board met at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 1983 in the Borough Conference Room with the following persons present: Scott Arndt, Jerry Gudenau, Lou Schneider, Bill Beaty, Wayne Coleman, Dave Waldron, John Witteveen, Dave Thompson, and Phil Shealy. Art Bors and Ron Chase were absent. Dave Waldron reviewed the Borough building remodeling project. Discussion followed on the need to shut the pool down over the summer or provide an interim alternative method, including temporary arrangements. The consensus was that the pool should remain open. After further discussion Bill Beaty recommended awarding the contract and both alternates to J. H. Kelly, Inc. of Longview, Washington fora total amount Discussion then centered around the Junior High School remodeling plans which were briefly reviewed by the ARB. Bill Beaty expressed concern that the ARB had not been involved at various stages as the plans were developed and the ARB agreed to meet on April 14 to review the plans in detail. Mr. Waldron then reviewed the Akhiok and Karluk Bulk Fuel projects as well as the Peterson and East playground project and discussed various deficiencies at Main Elementary School including the gym floor and the wall alignment. Several questions were asked regarding the facility coordinator's status report for March 1983 and Mr. Waldron briefly reviewed the HEW proposal to upgrade Peterson School in the amount of $500,000.
