ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD MEETING
JANUARY 12, 1988
MINUTES
The Architectural Review Board regular meeting of January 12,
1988, was called to order at 7:35 p.m_ by Chairman Heinrichs_
The following were present:

Approval of October 12, 1987 minutes was called for_ Dennis
Nicholson expressed his name was spelled wrong_ MINUTES
APPROVED.
Election of Officers was called for_ ROBIN HEINRICHS elected
chairman by unanimous voice vote; CLIFF FORD elected vice-
chairman by unanimous voice vote.
Mr_ MacFarlane gave of review of the current projects:
Landfill Close-out is in process. Impervious layer and
parts of topsoil are being put in.
Hospital Site_Contract is progressing. Excavating has
started, and blasting will begin soon. The over -burden
is being hauled to the landfill.
High School_Code_Upgrade architects are 10% complete on
working drawings. The drawings include handicap up -grade.
The vocational education area presently does not meet
code. There will be an additional storage room for
athletic equipment, and the gym floor and bleachers are

to be replaced. The maintenance shop will be put in as
an alternate. All shops have problems with ventilation
and electrical power.
Port Lions School_ Addition_ and Remodel is 60% complete_
November 12 the old gym burned. Tonight is the presen-
tation of 75-80% complete drawings for review. Port
Lions is a model project. Local hire is working, and the
contractor is very cooperative.
Larsen_Bay_School_Addition_and _Remodel is further
along --beginning to put sheetrock on_
East_ Elementary_ School Addition_and_Remodel is getting
the finishing touches. Final inspection will be approxi-
mately February 15, but part of the project will take
place next summer_
Hospital design drawings are 80% complete. The process
of reviewing those drawings will be a monumental task.
Discussion followed among the members on the various projects.
Mr_ MacFarlane presented the Port Lions School Gymnasium and
Vocational Education preliminary drawings for questions and
comments from the members. (See attached)_
A MOTION was made by Mr. Coleman and seconded to accept the
drawings as presented with comments being further considered_
Motion CARRIED by unanimous voice vote_
The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 p.m.
