MINUTES December 15, 1992 Attending the meeting were: Jim Wheeler, chairman; Gerry Cloudy, Ron Chase, Woody Koning, Mike Milligan, Betty Walters, Steve Hobgood and Kaye McClain, staff. Also attending were Alan Austerman, Assemblymember; Stan Thompson and Ken Schmidt. Mr. Wheeler called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. Topic of the evening was the presentations in response to the RFP for Architectural Services for replacement of Kodiak Island Hospital using a Design/Build Approach and the RFP to develop a Comprehensive Space and Remodeling Plan for KIH. Mr. Hobgood introduced Donald F. Prochaska of Prochaska Associates of Omaha, NE. Following his presentation, the group asked questions. Mackenzie Skene and Jon Kumin represented Kaplan, McLaughlin & Diaz of San Francisco, CA. Questions were asked of them, as well. Final presentation of the evening was given by John Wodoslawsky, representing Hospital Building & Equipment, St. Louis, MO. Following the questions of Mr. Wodoslawsky, the group discussed giving a recommendation of one firm to do both studies as a cost saving factor, as well as consistency in the reports produced. Consensus was to award to a single firm. Costs of the three proposals were noted. The members of the Board each ranked the three firms as follows: PROCHASKA KMD HBE WHEELER 1 3 2 CHASE 1 3 2 CLOUDY 1 3 2 KONING 1 3 2 WALTERS 1 3 2 MILLIGAN 1 3 2 HOBGOOD 1 3 2 Woody Koning moved the Board recommend the assembly award the study to Prochaska & Associates in an amount not to exceed $ 115,000.
