1985-01-10 Regular MeetingBELL'S FLATS-RUSSIAN CREEK ROAD/FIRE,.SERVIGE DLSTRICT;) 9 '7 Regular meeting:. January 10, 1985 @ 7:35 P.M. Present: Cobis, Reyes, Williams,Gondek, Kortlever. Unexcused absences Green and Ripley. Minutes of last meeting: minutes of Dec 6, 1984 meeting read and accepted. Visitors: none Chair Report: Chairman brought us up to date on the following topics; 1- New radio is installed in #21, and old radio switched to #22. 2- Bayside reimbursed for trip to pick up tankers. 3- Results of meeting with new Contractor(copy of those minutes included) 4- Repairs on #21, mostly covered by Warranty. 5- Renewal of State Raffle permit. 6- Financial situation, specifically that Fire Service will have to get money from Road Service to get through till July 1. Old Business 1- Air Compressor is still being looked at, tabled any action until next month. 2- Election of Officers: Chair opens nominations for Chairman- Cobis ncminates Kortlever for Chair, Gondek seconds. Williams moves to close nominations, Cobis seconds. Vote unanimous. . - Chair opens nominations for vice -Chairman- Reyes nominates Williams, Gondek seconds, Williams moves to close nominations, Kortlever seconds. Vote unan- imous. Chair opens nominations for Secretary- Gondek nominates Cobis, Williams seconds. Reyes moves to close nominations, Kortlever seconds. Vote unani- mous. 3- Name Change for Service District- this is once again delayed so that we can coordinate a Community meeting with the Community Council. Some add- itional topics we would like to have Public Hearings on in the next few months are: A) Changes in Road Service to reflect growing population. B) Possibility of State Funds for upgrading main roads. C) Upcoming Budget process. 4- Spring Job List- The situation in front of Mr. Elbe's property calls for a CMP across the road. This formally begins formation of the Spring Job List. New Business 1- Cobis moves that we coTnence paying a $10.00/ per head Stipend to the Volunteer Fire Department members. This will be paid each time they are actually paged out on Emergency calls. This should be paid bi-aannually. Williams seconds, vote unanimous. 2- Gondek moves to purchase 8 channel scanner for a tail -gate monitoring station on Engine #21, which is our Command vehicle. This will cost in the neighborhood of $500.00. Reyes seconds, vote unanimous. r r n A BELL'S.FLATS-RUSSIAN CREEK ROAD/FIRE SERVICE DISTRICT Regular meeting: January 10, 1985 (continued) New Business (cont.) 3- Cobis moves to transfer $15,000.00 from Road Service to Fire Service. Williams seconds, vote unanimous. 4- Cobis moves to authorize Chairman to hire a licensed Surveyor to mea- sure and document our road system in miles. Reyes seconds, vote is unanimous. 5- Reyes suggests that we develop a Tsunami warning system, and consider an Evacuation Plan. Gondek will find when the State people,who are promoting this type of thing, are coming to town. We know that they are going to be here sometime in the near future, and we should be ready. Next meeting tentatively set for February 19, 1985. This will hinge on coordinating a Public Hearing with the conm¢umity Council. Cobis moves to adjourn, Gondek seconds, vote unanimous. 9:30 P.M.
