Regular Meeting: March 8, 1984 @ 7:30 P.M. u flu
Present: Glen Mathes, Jim Cobis, Mel Kortlever, Mike Green, and Vince Reyes.
Jim Rippey and Pat.Reiland excused absences.
Minutes: Minutes of last meeting read and accepted.
Communications; Recieved a letter from the Lochmans itemizing the steps they
will take to ditch and install culverts in their subdivision.
Chairmans report:
1- February snow removal costs $12,931.00
2- Fire Dept. requests additional 12 sets of Turnout Gear.
3- Fire Chief requests lumber for benches and lockers, firemen will build.
4- Fire Chief wants permission to go downtown and spend Fire Rervice money
on related items.
Old Business:
1- Cobis and Kortlever relate details of conference with Borough Manager
and Brechan Inc. Borough Assembly will have Staff request proposals
for repairing the paving on Sargent Ck. Rd.
Mathes moves that Board review any proposals before the Borough accepts
them, Green seconds, motion fails.
2- Firehouse sign, and directional signs pointing the way to the Firehouse
are to be purchased by Community Council.
3- Budget- Cobis reports that the $15,000.00 Fire Service got from Road
Service must be budgeted for in our new Fire Service budget. Borough
staff advises that this will be accounted for in the Road Service budget.
Kortlever reports that anticipated $1,600.00 rise in Insurance due to
anticipated new truck has been taken into consideration in Fire Service
budget. Kortlever will submit Budget Requests to Borough.
New Business:
1- Cobis moves that this Board write a letter to the Borough Manager to
authorize our Fire Chief, KE Ed Gondek, tospendEire Service monies
up to $250.00 per purchase, for goods pertaining to the Fire Dept.
Any purchase in excess of $250.00 must be brought before this Board
first. All expenditures must conform to Budget guidelines. Kortlever
seconds, motion passes unanimously.
2- Chairman will purchase 12 sets of Turnout Gear for Fire Dept.
3- Fire Chief authorized to purchase lumber for work benches and lockers.
4- If Fire Chief desires he is authorized to attend "Arson Seminar" in April.
/// Service District will pay for travel and acconadations.
Green moves to adjourn, with next meeting on April 12, Kortlever seconds,
vote unanimous.
