1982-09-14 Regular MeetingBELLS Ff i—RU ;iiAN GIVEK ROAD AND FIREi. .✓ICE DISTRICT Regular Meeting: September 14, 1982 6:00 P.M. Present: Cobis, Mathes, Schaeffer, Perry and Reyes. Green excused absence, Geddes unexcused absence due to consistent failure to Atteod and lack of communication on the subject. Cobis moves, Perry seconds. Vote unanimous. Minutes read and Cobis moves to accept. Mathes seconds, vote unanimous. Old Business: Referring to hazard of half -paved Sargent Creek Rd., swaitng report from Pii.ke Green who was delegated to contact Brechan Enterprises on advice of Boro Manager. Perry volunteers to talk to Brechan if Mike G. not back soon. Word from Boro Engineer is that he has been too busy this year to draft plan for Women's Bay Drive that we have been requesting action on since Spring. Mathes will speak to Boro Manger about bypassing Boro Engineer on this project and allow us to work out a solution in concert with our Contractor. Cobis and Mathes met with Boro on Firehouse floor plan revisions and found them acceptable. Dave Waldrin of Boro staff attempted to persuade us into going for larger, less manneverable Fire Truck because of larger tank. We reminded him that we have valid reasons for preferring smaller truck, but waldrin seems intent on reeems mending larger truck to Boro Assembly. Concensus of Fire Service District members is that we will have to send someone to appro- priate Boro, Assembly meeting to remind Assembly of wishes of the Service District on this matter. New Business: Elections- Since there were no fibs on four vacancies and Perry cannot run due to conflict with Coast Guard policies, Cobis, Reyes and Green will offer themselves as Write-in candidates and Cobis will approach Women's Bay Community Council on any recoeanendations for fourth vacancy. Next meeting set for October 12, 1982 Schaeffer moves to adjourn, Perry seconds, vote Unanimous. Meeting adjourned. Kodiak Island Borough Kodiak, Alaska RECEIVED SEp 2 81982 P M it112123411'
