1985-07-11 Regular MeetingWOMENS BAY SERVICE DISTRICT " } Regular Meeting: July 11, 1985 Present: Kortlever, Reyes, Gondek, Green and Williams. Excused absences: Cobis and Rippey. Visitors: John Finley and Lyn Carpenter, co -Chairmen of Womens Bay Community Council. - They wanted us to send someone to their July 16 meeting, because the Borough Planner was going to be there to discuss current work on revising the P&Z codes. - They also requested that We write a letter to Fish & Game stating no objection to planting Beavers in the pond on Chiniak Dr.. Board members agreed unanimously in a voice vote. Minutes of June meeting read and accepted. Chair Report: 1- No bills paid because no work was done. Projects requested of contractor in May still not started. 2- Recieved invoice from Kodiak Contractors Inc. for work done last week of December, 1984. Nobody could remember any work done during that period. 3- Year end Budget balances: Roads- $7353.13 Fire- $3204.98 *** Pertaining to #2 - Invoice was labeled KIB 1, and ours were labeled KIB 2. Turned bill back to Borough to return to KCI. Old Business: 1- Several projects lined up and ready to go a) Ugak Dr. improvements b) Dredging pond and preparing pad for Firehouse addition c) Removal of material from corner across from Firehouse C_ d) Driveway culvert installlations: - Williams(3) - Ruble (1) - Smedley (1) Holstein (1) Lot 2A block 7 e) culvert by Fred Herring's needs cleaning out 2- Need to resolve drainage problem near Lockman's subd. and Garrett's. Possibly need to remove improperly installed culvert from behind Ausman's on Womens Bay Dr. 3- Mutual Aid Agreement: Fire Chiefs have met and clarified several points. _ Section 14(b) now refers to what parties can supply, not what they need to supply. Section 19 does not apply to Coast Guard. New Business: 1- Discussed asking Borough to let our Contract be changed to July to July. Dec to Dec is awkward. 2- Discussed using someone other than our contractor to brush roads, as our contractor isn"t too interested. Maybe put out bids?
