1989-01-26 Regular MeetingT page one Monashka Bay Road District Meeting of January 26, 1989 I. Meeting was called to Order at 7:10 p.m. II. Members present; Cathy Cordry, Bill Swearingin, Dan Ogg, and Joel Wattum. Don Fox was excused. III. There were 12 people in attendance, in addition Linda Freed and her daughter Maggie were present. IV. Bill Swearingin opened the meeting. V. Merle Brown, the new grader person was present to answer questions about the road service. There were questions concerning the cost of driveway plowing vs. cost of regular road grading. Committee decided to have the driveway program remain until next year. VI. Bill open the meeting for the public hearing on changing the zoning. There was much discussion on both sides of the issue. Linda Freed explained the nature of the changes if the new zoning was adopted. A poll of the persons present was taken to determine the feeling of the area. That poll was 6 persons against the change in zoning and 9 persons in favor of the new zoning. A letter poll was counted. the result of the letter poll was 13 persons against and 30 persons in favor. The total of the poll was 19 persons against rezoning and 39 persons in favor of the change in zoning. The commission decided to make the information available to the property owners in the next news letter. The Commission also decided that it was up to an individual or a group to pursue the actual rezoning. Bill closed the public hearing VII. Joel Wattum reported that the highway department may place some lights at the school bus stops if we write the proper letters. It was decided Ogg would write the letter form Joels information. VIII. Again the commission decided to request the Borough to request the state to lower the speed limit from55 to 45 from Ft. Ambercrombie to the dump. IX. Next meeting date was set for Friday February 23, 1990 at the Bay Side Fire Station at 7.00 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 8.45p.m.
