Exception Request, John Rudick This ite<;: was taken from the agenda, as the Borough office had received a letter Ircm the ouz e CIETU65hcil advising that an approval had been given, but it was not under the name of John Pudick. Another letter_ was sent to the Council requesting recommendations on this matter. B. Ratification of work session and approval of exdsting land use maps, — -- - This item was also taken from the agenda, as land use maps are not to be considered zoning maps, and the borough cannot adopt them as zoning maps until such time as the zoning ordinance has been adopted. Waller read the letter from Port Lions City Council, and after some discussion, Mrs. Gellis made a notion that the Planning & zoning Comnussion anurove the zonina reauest by the Port Lions Citv Council for tYu-s grater- - area as vote was VIII SUBDIVISION, PRUMAINARY RLATIE71 A. Subdivision of Lot 2 anu part of Lot 1, Blk 2, USS 3066, A&B, Robert Scott (Case 221-•A)--- It was pointed out that this item had been discussed at the previous meet- ing of July 29, and it had been decide(! then to rezone this lot, because of its size,to R--3, and that a public hearing, would be set for a future date. P•1rs. Gellis made a motion that Case 221• A be set for public hearing and tnat rezoning-Tmm—Unclassified to R--3 should be made. Mr. 'Nelch seconded KIBS272647 P&Z Minutes page 2 July 30,169 B. Approval Final Plat, State Land, ADL 36998, Port Lions It was brought out that this is an application for land in Port i.ions to be used for the purpose of a saw mill. After some discussion, Mr. Wallace made a motion to approve the final plat, State Land, ADL 36998, Port Lions, subject to the Borough Engineer's ap-proval. 11r. A royal Final Plat, State Land; AM 39843, i?a_rrcw Strait It was pointed out that this is an application by Kodiak -Bible Chapel for land to be used as a recreational camp. Chairmar Waller read the background material on this, and after some discussion, Mrs. Gellis made a motion that approval be given to final plat, State Land, ADL 39848 Barrow Strait, subject to the approval of the B--ougii Engineer. 1r. Wallace seconded the motion and roll call voting was unanimously in favor. IX SUBDIVISIONS FINAL NONE X OLD BUSL LSS A. Dell's Flats Zoning, Peview No action was taken on this item, but it was decided that a public hearing would be set up for a later date, as the school still had some questions on this. B. Memo of July 28 from Borough Assembly (Case 219-B) f-Ir. Naller read the Memo from the Borough Assembly wherein they state that rezoning on subject lots was denied, as this would create a hardship due to the fact that seater and sewer facilities are not available in that area. They suggestedd that a blanket variance be issued thereby enabling present owners to build closer to the property line than the usual 70 feet. The P&Z maibers questioned if they could, in fact, issue a blanket variance, along with several other questions. Gellis brought up the subject of house numbering and street nemixg and numbering. She suggested that the Street Naming Committee of the historical Society be contacted and notified that this subject will be brought up for consideration at a future date.
