The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. in the Courtroom by Acting Chai man

The minutes of July 7 and July 14, 1965 were read and approved as read.
IV Conm=ications and Appearance Requests
A. Walt Neste - Trailer Permit . A motion was made by commissioner Sutliff
to table until report by State Sanitarian or Engineer Barr on sanitary
facilities. Seconded by Commissioner Edris.

B. Variance in setback and lot requi.rements --letter from City ._Egin eer. Lot

15, Block 16, part Kodiak Townsite. James Barr read letter from City
Engineer. Mrs. Kessler appeared for Mr. Carblin, the reputed purchaser of
the lot from Mr. Higgins, and stated Yr. car in did not require rezoning
but did wish a variance. There was a motion by Connissioner Anderson that
variance be granted. Seconded byCbm-Urie. Commissioner Anderson added that
with approval of second,, Mr. Carbin be required to present written easement
for egress and ingress. Lfter discussion, Commissioner Anderson withdrew
ir,otion. Cownissioner Anderson moved that public hearing be scheduled.

C. Petition for Variance - Carpenter's Union arking regulations. Petition
read by Barr. Commissioner I.-nderson moved request be set for public hearing,
Seconded by Comissioner Curie Passed by voice vote.
D. Mildred Markham - BuildiM, Permit * Engineer Barr read a pertinent section
of the Ordinance. The building has a nor -confomin g use presently and cannot
be added to. cow ssioner Anderson moved that the area on the left side of
road Fro w- City L3'xa-its to Harry Felton's be set up for public hearer with a
view to rezoning to Corrine rc i al S ec onded by Commis s ione r Juel s on Carried
by voice vote.
E. Port Lions - Final Plat. Borough Engineer's report was read. Counissioner
iEdris moved acceptance. Seconded by Conulissioner Juelson. commissioner Edris
added. subject to signature of dedication certificate. Second confined voice
vote approved.

J. Leasim- Land- - Church of the Nazarene. A letter from Anchorage Realty Company
was read. 1-oir. Granbury representing the Church mentioned a 66 acre tract,
USS 3511and USS 3469, Mr, Cranbury needs 62,500 square feet, First choice
is the lout wet corner of USS 3469* USS 2843 ;� Lot 11 USS 3511 and USS 3463
was also mentioned. There was no action taken.
K. Sto Lan s Catholic Church - Build Perydt. This was submitted to Borough
Chairman for action.

V Hearings, ordinances and Resolutions
'Russell � Public Hea . Mr. Russell did not attend the meeting. Father
Cowgill objected to changes. Nr. Russell can appear at next meeting. The
Borough Office is to notify ME.
13. Dr. R. Holmes Johnson - Public HeaEJLLng, A letter from the Borough Attorney
was read. Commissioner Anderson moved to approve rezoning a protion of Lot 6,
Block 14, Proposed New Nbdialc Subdivision frow R3 to Commercial. Seconded
by Comdssioner Urie. Vo ice vote iiras unanimous*
C. Russell llri&ht - Public Hear-Ing. The rezoning request was to change three
lots oi�aied by 1-jright,, Hickman and Markham from Ples idential Unclassified to
Business. Cemmissioner -Sutliff moved approval. Corud'ssioner Dtiros seconded
and was followed by a unanimous roll call vote.

A. Commissioner Sutliff moved P & Z Commission agenda be closed Friday at close
of office hours. Commissioner Juelson seconded. Unanimous by voice vote.
B, Commissioner Pxderson brought up street requirements of Subdivision Ordinance.
Engineer Barr explained Ordinance does not require either excavation or fill
i if existing material suitable.
VIII Audience Participation
A. Mr. Loren Lounsbury was not present. Acting Chairman Cornelius suggested
future changes in subdivision regulations be subndtted and discussed with
Borough Engineer prior to sub wIssion, Borough dineer to prepare coments
