The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m., by Chairman John Waller in the
Courtroom of the iiew State Office Building, Kodiak, Alaska.

A. Jaycees �-':oposed Land Lease on Chiniak Roal
The letter was read. A discussion was held as to the location of the
land and it was detercined to be where the old dairy '..<s located on the right
side of the road going toward the base. A discussion was also held on the
various proposed uses of the land. Sc:r- of the ideas mentioned were for a
proposed golf course, trailer court, and go cart racing track. Mr. Haney
asked whether the Jaycees could raise money on their pr.,^'.cets. Mr. Best stated
they could as long as they remained a non-profit organization. Air. Haney moved.

meeting reconvened. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.

The letter from Felton and Tenny was read. A drawring was submitted and explained
to the committee. It was n^.nticned that Mr. Morton owes a gun shop next door
to this property. tlr. Haney moved to grant the excepticn.e.Xotion died for lack
of a second. fir. Best stated that he thought it would be best to rezone the "
property rather than grant an exception. He stated that an exception would be
desirable only if the connission wished to place restrictions on the use of the
property. Since there is business ,.)-dng across the street it was felt that
a rezoning would be more desirable in this case. Mr. Haney moved, seconded

be prepared for the Borough by Ityck, Nyman, and Hayes.

made in the Building Code, zoning Ordinances, and Trailer Park Ordinances.

into same of the cases that care before the committee. It was agreed that the
c miittee malrbers would look at these areas of the proposed cases.
