Solid Waste Contract Committee Regular Meeting
June 4, 2024
The meeting was called to order at 1:12 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Board Members present were James Turner and Scott Smiley. Larry LeDoux was
absent. A quorum was established. Also present were Kodiak Island Borough
Manager Aimee Williams, Kodiak Island Borough Engineering Director David Conrad,
Alaska Waste Representative David Edwards, and Kodiak Island Borough Solid
Waste Manager Jena Hassinger.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
SMILEY MOVED to approve the minutes from May 14, 2024.
VOICE VOTE CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
CITIZENS COMMENTS
(Limited To Three Minutes Per Speaker)

AGENDA ITEMS
a. Draft Second Amendment
Patricia Valerio reviewed the document. There were two changes proposed
and accepted by the Board;
First on page 6 of the agenda packet, under section titled "Increase to
Service Process", remove "more than four (4) times in one
billing month." And replace it with "three (3) occurrences within
a sixty-day (60) period."
Second on page 8 and 9 of the agenda packet to add a reference to the
Increase in Service Section.
The Board provided direction to make all changes to the contract as outlined in
the second amendment draft here, email to Board for comment, and once all
comments have been made/accepted, add it to the Assembly Agenda for
review. Goal is to present to the Assembly July 11th Work Session and 18th,
Regular Meeting 2024..
