REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
Date: Tuesday, March 5, 2024 5:26 p.m.
Call to Order: 5:30
Commissioners Present: Jason Chandler, Travis Cooper, Billy Ecret vice -chair, Greg Egle-
Chair, Dave Heuman-Secretary, Jon Melin and Bill Roberts.
Dave Conrad, Fire Chief, and Kevin Arndt and Brandon Cox, Contractors
Approval of agenda by unanimous vote.
Approval of minutes by unanimous vote for:
1. Regular Meeting of February 6, 2024 and Budget Public Hearing of Feb. 20, 2024
Citizen's Comments: none
Contractor Comments:
1. Ice abatement/control, pothole repairs, approx. 50k invoiced in Feb.
Chairman's Report:
1. Work orders
a) Pot hole
2. Budget updates- no current data received.
3. Communications- none
Old Business:
1. Fire Dept
a) Repeater install pending
b) Brush Truck Recall pends scheduling w/ ferry trip
c) Water line repairs; pends weather, post winter time.
d) Grant was submitted for Assistance to Firefighters, to fund
encrypted radios for the department.
2. Road Service; none
New Business:
1. Fire Dept
a) There had been previous discussion to
reduce the mill rate allocated to the FD
by .25 and shifting that to the RS, but
concern was that future funding for Fire
Truck replacement would be
jeopardized.
2. Road Service
a) After a wide ranging discussion, a
motion was presented and passed
unanimously to recommend a .75 mill
rate increase for the Road Service, so
that much needed deferred
maintenance could be addressed,
including degrading asphalt, gravel
topping and failing culverts.

b) D Conrad to get updated revenue
projections from the KIB Finance Dept
to be incorporated by D Heuman in an
updated proposed budget to reflect the
increase, for final presentation at the
March 19 Budget Public Hearing.
