10 A ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY ACCEPTING A
11 GRANT FROM THE ALASKA DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND
12 EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT UNDER THE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT
13 PROGRAM (HSGP) FOR KODIAK AREA EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN UPDATE

15 WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough applied for a grant from the Alaska Division of
16 Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHS &EM) to provide for the
17 comprehensive revision and update of the Kodiak Area Emergency Operations Plan
18 (KAEOP); and

20 WHEREAS, DHS &EM has approved a grant in the amount of $35,000 based on the
21 submitted grant application, which provides for a scope work for the proposed KAEOP
22 update; and

24 WHEREAS, acceptance of the award is necessary in order to utilize the funds to pay for
25 the KAEOP revision and update.

27 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
28 BOROUGH THAT:

30 Section 1: This ordinance is not of a general and permanent nature and shall not
31 become a part of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances.

33 Section 2: The Borough Manager is hereby authorized to accept the DHS &EM grant
34 funds in the amount of $35,000 and to administer those funds to initate and
35 complete the comprehensive revision and update of the Kodkak Area
36 Emergency Operations Plan as described in the approved grant application.
