8 AMENDING TITLE 3 REVENUE AND FINANCE
9 CHAPTER 3.55 TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATIONS TAX
10 SECTION 3.55.025 ALLOCATION OF SALES TAX PROCEEDS

12 WHEREAS, this ordinance is a clean -up ordinance to correct an error in KIBC 3.55.025 to
13 reflect that there is only one village in Kodiak which is the Village of Karluk and five second
14 class cities which are the Cities of Akhiok, Larsen Bay, Port Lions, Old Harbor, and
15 Ouzinkie; and

17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
18 BOROUGH THAT:
19 Section 1: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become a part
20 of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances; and

22 Section 2: Title 3 Revenue and Finance Chapter 3.55 Transient Accommodations Tax
23 Section 3.55.025 Allocation of Sales Tax Proceeds is hereby amended as
'24 follows:
25 3.55.025 Allocation of sales tax proceeds.
26 A. The sales taxes collected under KIBC 3.55.010 shall be allocated to a separate fund OF
27 acres-14144 to be appropriated and utilized solely for increased development of the tourist
28 industry, and may be allocated for tourism programs, tourism enhancement projects, such
29 as beautification within the borough, and the administrative costs associated with such
30 programs;
31 B. The sales tax collected in any cix villagoc village or city in the Kodiak Island Borough
32 may be appropriated for the purpose of the development of the tourist industry in that village
33 or city.
